Kill of the Week - Boomerang vs. Asian Carp


This is the stupidest shit I've ever seen...why would you smack a fish with a boomerang. IDK maybe a bird or something, but the fish just falls back into the water slightly dazed and confused as to what just happened. Then you have to fish your boomerang out of the water.This looks fun! Before some dipshits thing that its cruel. The Asian Carp is invading places like the Great Lakes (I live in Michigan) and they are killing other fish that are native. They could ruin the fishing industry.

I think these "primitive" hunting techniques are hugely under-appreciated. They often seem to yield faster results than modern bait / line fishing methods. I had an initial skeptical reaction when a Chinese exchange student at a marine lab I was working at, said she was going fishing, just carrying a small hand-held net. A couple minutes later, she brought back a fish which we all ate for dinner.
